CY
YOUNG
A bronze statue depicting Cy
Young now stands on what was once the location of the pitcher's
mound of the old Huntington Avenue Grounds, the original home of
the Boston Red Sox. Young pitched from this mound in the first
World Series game held in 1903, and one year later he threw the
first perfect game in the modern era from the same mound.
